Six Main Stages of Fiber Clay Planter Production

Material Preparation and Mixing

The production process begins with carefully measured raw materials. The correct material proportion is important for achieving a consistent mixture, stable planter structure and reliable surface quality.

Workers mix the materials thoroughly before production begins. Consistent preparation helps maintain similar working performance across different planter shapes, sizes and production batches.

Handmade Molding and Forming

Experienced workers apply the fiber clay material by hand inside the mould. The planter rim, body and base are gradually formed while workers control the overall shape and material distribution.

Manual forming allows close attention to planter thickness, structural balance and surface details, especially for large outdoor planters and designs with distinctive handmade textures.

Fiberglass Reinforcement

Fiberglass sheets are carefully positioned inside the planter and bonded with the fiber clay material. Workers check that the reinforcement is evenly arranged throughout the required areas.

This reinforcement step helps improve structural stability while allowing the finished planter to remain lighter and easier to handle than a traditional solid concrete planter.

Curing, Demolding, Sanding and Repairing

After forming, the planter is allowed to cure before it is carefully removed from the mould. Workers then inspect the planter body and manually sand the surface to improve its consistency.

Small surface imperfections are identified and repaired before painting. For textured planters, workers refine the surface without removing the intended handmade character of the finish.

Painting and Decorative Finishing

The finishing process includes controlled coating stages designed to prepare, colour and protect the planter surface. A primer or sealer is applied first, followed by the base colour and final decorative or protective finish.

Depending on the product design, special stone-look, concrete-look, textured or antique effects may also be applied by hand. Each layer is checked for colour consistency, coverage and overall appearance.

Final Inspection and Export Packing

Before shipment, each approved planter is checked for shape, dimensions, surface finish, colour consistency and overall condition. Products that do not meet the required presentation standard are separated for further review.

Finished planters are then protected with suitable wrapping, paperboard and secure strapping according to the product size and packing method. Careful packing helps reduce movement and possible damage during container loading and international transportation.
